Voices of Babel
We soprani, tripping lightly
ever vocal, captivating,
winsome in our glory
beautiful, titillating
we elevate the story
We alti sing but two notes
one is higher
the other not-so
out of an alto
that's a lotso!
The tenori sing the tune
joyous ninnies, not creative
but mundane,
like a 'round tuit'
dirty work, someone has to do it!
Baritones bellow their low notes
bewildered behemoths
with descending scales
metered assonance
that seldom fails.
Lastly, the bottom-dwelling Basso
Leviathan, Gargantuan
rumblingly abdominal
profundo
phenomenal
